I felt it was important to e-mail to pass on my gratitude to the team that looked after me and for the exemplary care I received after a recent injury which required surgery. I fell and fractured my wrist. I attended urgent care … and after having an x Ray was informed that I had a fracture, and was temporarily put into a cast….. I was advised to return the next day to outpatients at 9am to the … hand clinic to be seen by Mr Miranda to discuss a treatment plan I was given the news that I would require surgery to my wrist and a CT scan. Mr Miranda took the time to listen to my many questions and fears (and tears!) and explained everything to me and my husband and reassured me completely. Most importantly throughout this consultation I felt time was not an issue, was not rushed and I felt genuinely cared for. I was advised to attend for the CT scan … and then surgery for open reduction and internal fixation of distal radius … as a day case…… On the morning of my surgery I was petrified with fear and very emotional however LM , Kat Hair, Mr Miranda and Dr A all quickly put me at ease and before I knew it I was ready for surgery and then woke up in recovery where I was very well cared for …. before being discharged later that afternoon ……  I could not have had better treatment throughout this episode.
